The partnership between Jagan Nath & Sons and Tata Steel Ltd. is a testament to resilience and commitment, transcending geographical and historical challenges. This association, which began long before India's independence, traces its roots back to Karachi and has spanned over 73 years, encompassing three generations of dedicated service to the steel giant.
In 1941, late Jagan Nath Yadav established Jagan Nath & Sons in Karachi while working along with Jaal Bhai & Co., the handling contractor of Tata Steel in the region. The firm moved to Jalandhar, Punjab, following India's independence, and it resumed its handling partner role with Tata Steel in 1967. The Jalandhar operations were established from scratch with Tata Steel's support, and by 1970, the firm had expanded to Delhi, followed by Ahmedabad in 1982.
Throughout its long association with Tata Steel, Jagan Nath & Sons has always followed the changing vision of the company and has evolved from manual to mechanized operations. In appreciation of this outstanding journey, the late Jagan Nath Yadav was felicitated in 1990 for his 50 years of unbroken association with Tata Steel.
As Tata Steel's needs were constantly changing, sister concerns were created by Jagan Nath & Sons in Faridabad and Dehradun to facilitate the firm's operations. Leadership of the company passed on smoothly from father to son, with Joginder Yadav and Ramesh Yadav taking over Okhla yard operations since 1970 up to date. Gradually, other members of the Yadav family joined the business as well. Ravinder Yadav, Basant Yadav, Vinod Yadav, and Vipul Yadav have all added to the company's growth by working on the warehousing and logistics side, dealing with all kinds of Tata products, such as Tata Bearings, Tata Tubes, Tata Wires, and even Tata Power in Delhi.
